Kelvin Kaindu insists his full focus is on Hard Rock ahead of their clash with Dynamos, brushing aside emotions linked to facing his former club.
Kaindu, who briefly took charge of the Harare giants during one of the most turbulent periods in the club’s history last season, says he is concentrating on building his current side rather than looking back at his time with the Harare giants.
“For now, I focus on HardRock and not any other team,” Kaindu told the Herald.
The Zambian tactician was appointed by Dynamos with just 12 games remaining in the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season, at a time when the Glamour Boys were dangerously close to suffering an unthinkable first-ever relegation.
Although he managed to steady the ship, Kaindu’s spell at the club was overshadowed by instability both on and off the pitch.
Now back in the dugout with ambitious newcomers HardRock, Kaindu appears to distance himself from the emotional narrative surrounding the fixture.
““I can’t focus much on them, but what I’m trying to build [here] ,” he said.
However, Kaindu hinted at how much the Dynamos squad has evolved since his departure.
“I’m told they have a better side than the one we had last season,” he added.
Despite his measured tone, Kaindu acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge awaiting his side against a club still regarded as one of Zimbabwean football’s heavyweights.
“We know we will be playing giants with the pedigree that they have. We just need to be on top of our game,” he said.
