Khama Billiat continued his strong start to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season on Saturday, moving level in the Golden Boot race after scoring his sixth goal of the campaign in Scottland FC’s 2-1 defeat to Simba Bhora.
Billiat struck inside 10 minutes, reacting quickest after William Thole spilled Kingsley Mureremba’s effort and calmly finishing to give Scottland an early advantage.
The goal took the former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns forward to six league goals this season, drawing him level with Herentals striker Ralph Kawondera at the top of the scoring charts.
But while Billiat’s personal form continues to rise, the result exposed Scottland’s wider problems. Simba Bhora recovered from the early setback, absorbed Scottland’s pressure and turned the contest in the second half to complete a comeback victory that handed Norman Mapeza’s side their first defeat of the season.
