Kadewere pledges full commitment for Zimbabwe ahead of London clash

Tino Kadewere has moved to shut out external pressure and media noise, insisting his focus remains firmly on performance, team structure, and national duty as Zimbabwe prepares for international action in London.

The Warriors forward, fresh from a two goal display for his club, said the goals carry meaning only in how they translate into confidence and contribution for the national side, rather than individual acclaim.

“I don’t pay attention to criticism or hype. I put my body on the line for the love of Zimbabwe,” he told the Herald.

Kadewere stressed that wearing the national shirt represents the highest level of responsibility in his career, describing international football as the ultimate test of commitment and discipline.

“I have always said my job is to serve the country with dedication. When I put on the national badge, it is the ultimate satisfaction for me.”

The 30 year old forward admitted that poor results weigh heavily on the squad, with players fully aware of the expectations carried by supporters and the demands of national football.

“Zimbabwe is bigger than any individual. I feel very hurt when things do not go our way for the country.

Attention has now shifted to the upcoming fixture in London, where Kadewere believes the group must respond with intensity, structure, and improved execution in the final third.

“We want to make the nation proud in London. This is a new chapter, and I am ready to give my all,” he added.

From a tactical perspective, Kadewere emphasised collective responsibility in attack, movement, link up play, and chance creation as priorities over personal statistics.

“We can’t be naive to think about individual scoring, it’s all about helping the team achieve its targets. So I am just concentrating on helping the team more than anything else,” he said.

However, the instinct of a striker remains clear. When opportunities arrive inside the penalty area, Kadewere says his duty is to be decisive and clinical.

“But as a forward if given a chance to hurt your opponent, it is what I am always looking forward to, more goals and enjoy the moment.”

“This brace is for the fans, and I want to bring that same fire to the national team,” he said.
