Billiat urges caution as Scottland brace for tougher tests

Scottland are approaching the season with caution, warning that heightened competition has made every opponent a serious threat.

Scottland FC go head-to-head with Highlanders FC in a Matchday 6 clash in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, with both sides still unbeaten after five games.

But while Scottland have been picking up momentum, Bosso are still looking to turn draws into wins after a long run of stalemates, making this a test of whether they can finally get over the line.

Khama Billiat admitted that the team is not taking anything for granted, with rivals increasingly raising their level whenever they face Scottland.

“Honestly speaking, we’re worried about all the teams. All the teams are going to be coming at us very hard ,” Billiat said.

Behind that caution is a clear recognition of the league’s unpredictability, with Billiat stressing the need for professionalism and consistency in every outing.

“We’re worried and respect every team around, because you don’t know what will happen on the day,” he said.

“We always have to be professional, apply ourselves the best way that we like.”

The forward added that Scottland’s focus remains on preparation and execution, with the ultimate goal of grinding out results.

“We train hard, we do everything that we do to just collect the points.”

Gaucho already has four goals in five matches, and if his current form is anything to go by, there’s a feeling he’s only just getting started

The last time Khama Billiat looked this sharp at club level was during his time at Mamelodi Sundowns FC, where he was one of the most dangerous players on the pitch.

Last season didn’t quite live up to that standard, with 2025 proving to be a quieter campaign by his usual levels.

But things have changed. Since Peter Ndlovu took charge at Scottland at the start of 2026, Billiat seems to have found his spark again.
