Marshall Munetsi scores again as Paris FC held by late Lyon penalty

Paris FC must be loving life with Marshall Munetsi right now. The Zimbabwe vice-captain is quickly becoming one of the club’s most reliable performers.

There is already talk that the midfielder could remain in Paris beyond his current loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Munetsi continued his red-hot streak by scoring for the third match in a row, delivering again when Olympique Lyonnais came to town.

The industrious midfielder struck in the 63rd minute, putting Paris FC on course for what looked like a crucial victory.

But the celebration was short-lived. Deep into stoppage time, Lyon were awarded a penalty, and Corentin Tolisso stepped up in the 96th minute to convert, snatching a dramatic late equaliser and denying Munetsi’s side all three points.

Zimbabwe Warriors vice-captain and midfielder Marshall Munetsi joined French Ligue 1 side Paris FC on a loan deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2026.

The 29-year-old moved to the French capital for the remainder of the 2025/26 season to secure more game time after joining Wolves from Stade de Reims.
