Tawanda Maswanhise is on fire and looks set to cap off an outstanding season with the Motherwell Player of the Year award.
The 23-year-old Zimbabwean international has continued his fine form in the William Hill Scotland Premiership, already claiming the league’s Player of the Month for January and now picking up Motherwell’s Player of the Month for February.
With back-to-back awards under his belt, Maswanhise sits firmly in pole position to add the season-long accolade to his growing collection.
Maswanhise, the Scottish Premiership’s most dangerous attacking threat currently, is buzzing after being named Player of the Month, saying it’s been an “amazing” month for him and the squad.
“Thank you for voting me for the Player of the Month again. It’s been amazing, it’s been a good month for the boys and myself,” he said.
The Warriors forward hailed his teammates for their improving performances and vowed to keep the pressure on the teams above as they chase glory.
“Team efforts, honestly, week in, week out, are honestly improving. Just got to keep looking forward and putting more pressure on the teams above us,” he added.
Maswanhise is now on 21 goals in all competitions this season, with the forward scoring against St Mirren in Paisley and Dundee United twice at Fir Park.
