Former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari has become the first Zimbabwean to attain the English Premier League’s Diploma of Higher Education in Football Coaching.
Mwaruwari, who spent three years completing the programme, has been involved with Plymouth Argyle, the former Premier League club, working with its development squads.
“This graduation is not the destination, but the beginning of a long and purposeful journey in football coaching,” Mwaruwari said on social media.
Benjani Mwaruwari’s graduation marks the start of a journey to grow as a coach and give back to football.
“This graduation is not the destination, but the beginning of a long and purposeful journey in football coaching. I am committed to continuous learning, coaching upgrades, and growth, with the aim of giving back to the game that has given me so much,” he added.
Benjani Mwaruwari has built his coaching chops across club and country. He had a short but eventful spell as head coach of Ngezi Platinum Stars in 2022 and served twice as assistant coach for the Zimbabwe national team.
While completing his UEFA A licence in 2020, he honed his skills with Portsmouth’s Under-16 academy, laying the groundwork for the next phase of his coaching journey.
