“My love for the club will never die” Jalai bids farewell to Dembare, the club he carried for six defining years

After six years at the heart of Dynamos Football Club, Emmanuel Jalai has confirmed the end of a chapter that shaped both his career and the modern identity of Zimbabwe’s most supported club.

The Dynamos captain announced his departure with a heartfelt message, describing the decision as the right moment to embrace “new challenges” after a journey defined by loyalty, leadership and resilience.

“After 6 years at Dynamos Football Club, now is the time to confirm that I am leaving the club for new challenges,” Jalai said.

Jalai is  closing the curtain on a spell that saw him evolve from a key squad member into the armband-bearing figurehead of DeMbare.

Jalai’s six-year stay coincided with some of the most demanding periods in the club’s recent history. Through transition, expectation and intense scrutiny, he emerged as a constant, trusted by coaches, respected by teammates and embraced by Dynamos’ vast following.

Wearing the armband, Jalai became a symbol of stability, often leading not just with words, but with presence during the club’s hardest moments.

“The honor of wearing the armband of this great club is a memory that will live with me forever,” he said.

Few players speak of Dynamos without referencing its supporters and Jalai was no different. In a direct message to the club’s famous “seven million supporters,” he pledged that his connection to the blue and white will remain unbroken.

“Seven million supporters, I will forever remain one of you,” he added.

Jalai departs having etched his name into the club’s modern story, not only as a captain, but as a leader who carried responsibility with humility. His farewell was marked by gratitude to coaches, teammates, staff and fans, and by a clear statement of enduring loyalty.

“I wish the club the very best for this coming season and many seasons to come. My love for the club will never die.”

Reports say the 27-year-old 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer Star of the Year finalist is on the verge of joining Betway Premiership side Durban City.
