Orlando Pirates have bolstered their attacking options ahead of the second half of the 2025/26 season by completing the permanent signing of Zimbabwean striker Daniel Msendami from Marumo Gallants.

The 25-year-old joins fellow Gallants recruit Mpho Chabatsane as the Buccaneers look to strengthen their squad for the Betway Premiership restart.

Msendami, who represented Zimbabwe at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, made 49 appearances for Gallants since joining from Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy in 2024, scoring four goals. Notably, he scored against Pirates in a 2-1 league defeat for Gallants in August, showcasing his ability to deliver on the big stage.

Pirates confirmed both transfers in a statement, noting that the players will join the squad in North West Province, where preparations for the second half of the season are underway under the club’s technical team.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane, as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the resumption of the 2025/26 campaign,” Pirates said in a statement.

“The Buccaneers have reached an agreement with Marumo Gallants for the services of both players, with the transfers concluded on a permanent and immediate basis.

“Following the completion of all the necessary clearances, Msendami and Chabatsane will travel to the North West Province, where the squad is currently in camp and being put through their paces by the technical team as preparations intensify ahead of the resumption of the Betway Premiership season.”

Msendami becomes the 12th Zimbabwean to play for Orlando Pirates, joining the likes of Ephraim Chahwanda, Edelbert Dinha, Takesure Chinyama, Marshall Munetsi, and others who have left their mark at the South African giants over the years. His arrival adds depth to Pirates’ frontline as they aim to challenge for domestic honours this season.
